Competitive Handgun 1

Want to take your shooting to the next level in 2019?

 

Competition is THE BEST way to build proficiency with a handgun. This class is designed for both current competitors and those wanting to get into the sport of action shooting.
After a brush up on the fundamentals the day will be packed with drills to get you prepared for you next match. Topics include:

This class is limited to 6 students to ensure you get the most out of your range time!
Required gear: Semi-Auto handgun, quality holster, 3+ magazines, magazine pouches, 500 rounds of ammunition.


• Need-to-know rules and range commands
• Shooting on the move
• Specialty targets (swinging targets, stars, etc)
• Capitalizing on the competitive mindset
• Movement techniques

 
Defensive Handgun

The next step for those who have obtained their concealed carry license or simply want to build   their skills. This course will focus on applying defensive techniques with an emphasis on concealed carry, but it will also broach the subject of self defense in the home. Specialty targets   will force you to make snap decisions in scenario based drills.

We will also cover:

•         Fundamentals of safety and marksmanship

•         Drawing from concealment and different concealment options

•         Shoot/No-Shoot decision making

•         Practical defensive scenarios

•         How to persevere through injury

Prerequisites: comfortable with safe gun handling, and a willingness to be physically active (elevated heart rate).

            Required gear: Handgun, quality holster, 200 rounds of ammunition.

            Class is limited to 6 students.

Carbine Fundamentals

Have an AR15 that you’ve never shot or simply aren’t comfortable with? This class lays the groundwork for the advanced carbine class and will leave you with a solid foundation and understanding the capabilities of the modern sporting rifle

We will cover:

•         How the rifle works and proper maintenance

•         Proper stance, body mechanics, breathing, and trigger control

•         Fundamentals of accuracy

•         Positional shooting and shooting around barricades

This class is limited to 4 students to ensure you get the most out of your range time!

            Required gear: Modern sporting rifle (AR/AK variants, Pistol Caliber Carbines, etc.), minimum two magazines, sling (recommended), 200 rounds of ammunition.

ADVANCED CARBINE

This will be a full day on the range rocking your favorite carbine! We will start with the basics to ensure a solid foundation but quickly progress to advanced drills to build proficiency. This class is not exclusively “Tactical” or “Competitive” but is a hybrid of the two disciplines built on the instructor’s experience in both realms. The focus will be getting fast, accurate, and efficient with your carbine, regardless of the application.

We will also cover:

•         Body mechanics and making the carbine work for you

•         Finding the capabilities of the modern sporting rifle

•         Advanced target transitions

•         Positional shooting at close to long ranges

Required gear: Modern sporting rifle (AR/AK variants, Pistol Caliber Carbines, etc.), minimum 4 magazines, magazine pouch(es) sling (recommended), 600 rounds of ammunition.

Handgun Fundamentals

We will cover

•         The groundwork for firearm safety and proper       handling/storage

•         Proper stance, grip, sight picture and alignment, and trigger control

•         Fundamentals of accuracy and the basics of defensive/competitive shooting

•         Proper dryfire techniques to build your skills at home

A perfect starting point for new shooters as well as a solid refresher for the more experienced. This class will identify bad habits and help build good ones.

Intro to Concealed Carry

This course was designed from the ground up to be a comprehensive approach to self defense laws, mindset, and application of force. This course far surpasses the bare-bones requirements set forth in Florida Statute and what you will typically find in you run-of-the-mill CCW course.

In the class we will cover

•         Florida laws involving firearms ownership, transport, and transfer

•         Applicable self defense laws including Stand Your Ground and the Castle Doctrine

•         The mindset of self defense and deadly force incidents

•         Fundamentals of shooting a handgun

•         How to interact with law enforcement if involved in a use of force

Upon the successful completion of the course you will receive a certificate and direction on how obtain your Florida Concealed Carry License.

 

            Required gear: Functioning handgun, holster (recommended), 100 round of ammunition

3-Gun Level 1

If you are a beginner in 3-gun or want a better understanding of the basics and fundamental skills involved in the sport, this is the course for you! We will dive deep into 3-gun, laying the groundwork for you to be ready for your first match… or your tenth! Covering concepts cultivated over years of competition shooting at a high level, this class will cut your learning curve significantly and allow you to focus on having fun. We will cover:

•  Necessary gear, placement, and application

•  Rules, scoring, range commands, and sportsmanship

•  Fundamentals of shooting each platform (rifle, pistol, shotgun)

•  Movement and stage breakdowns

•  Complicated stage plans and candycane loads

Required gear: Everything you would typically bring to a major match, rifle, pistol, shotgun, mag pouches and shell caddies, at least 3 mags for each, 300 pistol, 200 rifle, 200 shotgun, 10 slugs.

Lunch is provided both days. Class is limited to 6 students.

3-Gun Level II

This course is designed with the active 3-gunner in mind. If you have shot matches but aren’t performing at the level where you want to be, this course will help push you up the ranks. During the two days we will identify weaknesses and build them into strengths. Topics will vary based on individual needs but generally will include the following:

•  Transitions, both targets and guns

•  Getting into and out of positions

•  Shooting on the move: when and where you should       

•  Honing your mental game

•  Crushing those swinging and disappearing targets.

•  Plus much, much more!

Required gear: Everything you would typically bring to a major match, rifle, pistol, shotgun,   mag pouches and shell caddies, at least 3 mags for each, 300 pistol, 300 rifle, 200 shotgun, 20   slugs.

            Lunch is provided both days. Class is limited to 6 students.
